Antihistamines are tablet used to treat common allergies. These tablets are the one who will fight the histamines that are present in our bodies. The reason for the emergence of histamines in our body is due to allergens. Since, these allergens when it reaches the body of an allergic person will create many types of histamine. Meanwhile, these histamines will attach it to your cells and irritates it. So, the main used of antihistamines is to combat and stop the histamines in attaching to the cells.

Aside from preventing and treating allergies it can also treat colds and influenza. It also relieves itches cause by pollen producing plants and insect stings. People with insomnia take antihistamine since it makes them drowsy.
There are two kinds of antihistamines, the first and second generations. The side effect of the tablet varies within the two kinds. In the first generation you can feel drowsiness and dryness in the mouth and eyes. However, in the second generation antihistamine no side effects are evident. You can buy these tablets at leading drug stores or online shops. Antihistamine is taken orally and the dosage and time will depend on the doctor’s prescription and severity of the allergy.
